ABOUT THE EVENT:Going beyond our conceptions between food and waste, Agnieszka Pokrywka worked on a series of tutorials to instruct visitors how they can recycle certain parts of our body that are constantly growing, such as hair, skin and bacteria, in order to turn them into edibles or objects of daily use.
From 2019/01/15 until 2019/01/19 Pokrywka led public drop-in workshops on different tutorials, utilizing bacteria, saliva, hair, blood, and/or vaginal secretions. A final presentation of these tutorials, and a discussion on self-recycling and self-sufficiency in the 21st century took place on 2019/01/19. |

ABOUT THE ORGANIZER:
Agnieszka Pokrywka (PL/FI) is working in the spirit of decentralization, collective participation, and fermentation. These themes emerge in her work as a cultural organizer, where she re-rethinks standardized structures of creative production. She also applies these interests in multimedia and non-linear documentary storytelling. Sometimes she at least tries to make the world look better while working as a graphic and motion designer.
