ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Andrew Gryf Paterson (SCO/FI) is an artist-organizer, cultural producer, educator and independent researcher. He specializes in developing and leading inter/trans-disciplinary projects exploring connections between art, digital culture and science, cultural activism, ecological and sustainability movements, cultural heritage and collaborative networks. Originally from Scotland, Paterson has been most active in the past 15 years in the Baltic Sea region, based for most of the time in Helsinki, Finland. In recent years, he has been collaborating with Agnieszka Pokrywka, in Pixelache project 'Ferment Lab' activities. The overlap into food-hacking and paper-making emerged from this activity as an ongoing curious experiment.
Agnieszka Pokrywka (PL/FI) is working in the spirit of decentralization, collective participation, and fermentation. These themes emerge in her work as a cultural organizer, where she re-rethinks standardized structures of creative production. She also applies these interests in multimedia and non-linear documentary storytelling. Sometimes she at least tries to make the world look better while working as a graphic and motion designer.
